I offer private tuition to a small number of philosophy and logic students, on a one-to-one basis.
For each student, I put together a unique package of tuition, based on their aims and needs, whether this be:
- Passing an upcoming exam
- Progressing with a university or adult-education course
- Developing a general interest
For students looking for a general introduction to philosophy, we might cover a range of philosophical topics, at a level appropriate to your prior knowledge and skills.
For students working to a fixed syllabus or wanting to develop a specific interest, I can put together a targeted set of materials to investigate those topics in depth.
Specific topics we may cover include:
- Philosophy of mind and consciousness
- Metaphysics
- Epistemology (the theory of knowledge)
- Philosophy of Science
- Philosophy of language
- Theories of truth and meaning
- Formal or informal Logic
Specific ‘from the canon’ philosophers we might cover include (although I’m open to pother suggestions!):
- Descartes
- Locke
- Wittgenstein
- Frege and Russell
